Merry Christmas Eve to all

I'm waaaay behind on my 25 pictures from December...spent the day making cookies and one last Sam's run. But here is a blast from the past, don't think they'll sit on Santa's lap anymore.

December 4th - December 7th Pics of December

December 4th-a Santa Claus that my mom made probably 15 years ago....he gets a little squished in the door, but love the daily greeting.

December 5th-Went to St Genevieve to celebrate a friend's birthday and got to see the Christmas parade...and got candy!

December 6th-These are our family stockings. I stitched these mostly in the car. I originally had plain quilted stockings with cross stitch tops only, a train for Paul, a bear for Chris, and a sewing mouse for me...but I love these so much more.
December 7th-Caleb brought me home this mouse from Santa's Workshop at school when he was little. It took up residence that first Christmas on the post office of my village and has stayed since.

We take our doughnuts very serious...

I'm interrupting the 25 days of Christmas pictures for a PSA....if you see a doughnut box with this note, step away from the doughnuts.

New crazy...er...I mean Christmas....idea

This year, I'm not going to do the 25 days of Christmas like Ali does and that I did last year. Loved it and would like to do it again, but had a different thought this year. I'd like to take a picture (or 2 or 3) each day for 25 days of December. We had all Christmas up by December 1st....thanks to my wonderful hubby. We went through EVERYTHING and was able to eliminate at least 1 rubbermaid. That was such a happy thing. That made decorating not quite so overwhelming. Not sure I ever got it all out, but love my favorites.

December 1st: With new siding last year and some drain tile work, we got new bushes....way too small for lights and I don't like a string running from bush to bush. So they are exempt for a few years. But love my snowman and star.

December 2nd: A cow ornament from by friend CAB.....love getting ornaments out and the memories that come to mind. It's amazing that we only see them for maybe a month each year, but remember so much about the giver, the event, the time. Hoping to share more ornaments in these 25 days.

December 3rd: I won something on a blog and it arrived today. Such a lovely gift and many things that I've never seen or gotten to play with before. Thank you Christine for my gift.....I love reading your blog. /my_weblog/ This is the season of giving and this gift made my day.

Catch up and second post coming

Thanksgiving was WONDERFUL! #1 was home and he brought a delightful, beautiful friend. They do go out for a lot of soda, though. Ha! Ha! Ha! Had traditional turkey food twice with Paul's side and Lambert's with my side. YUMMY! It was a first for some who had to share their food, but all were good roll catchers.

It cost me $20 and a Red Bull in order to avoid a 6:00 a.m. trip to get some new monitors, but seeing Chris that hyper was well worth it. And I was probably going to give him some money anyway, so why not make him work for it. Quality bonding time with dad.
