From design wall to quilt

March 2013-Monica brings hexagon ruler and cuts out cool quilt. I buy fabric and use ruler to cut out mine, put on the design wall and carefully took off and pinned together for my quilter. (Thanks, Mom!) July 2013-back from being quilted after Mom put the quilt together and attached binding and viola! It is so pretty. Love the hexagon shape and the colors.

Little nantucket baskets

When I was in Indiana at a basket retreat in April, I took a small Nantucket pail with Joni-Dee Ross, a new teacher to me. I really enjoyed her class and learned a lot. I bought a kit and borrowed a mold to make two 5" Nantucket baskets; one with space-dyed cane and natural spokes, another with space-dyed cane and space-dyed spokes. I wanted to make one for mom for Mother's Day and one for myself. Mom's is on the top and it is the correct height, mine is on the bottom, a little shorter as I had a spoke break almost to the top. They utilize the wood rim glued on top. Looking forward to taking another class with her in the future.

Around Paul's office

Here are Paul's coworkers....the first, he gets along with fine, even provides food. The second....his nemesis! The jumping and yelling at them does provide exercise. You know it isn't good to sit in your chair for too long.
And Mother Nature provided this little playground for the birds and squirrels for a few days until it was cleaned up. Thankfully nothing major.
