April Fools - early
Caleb returned from a week at the farm on Sunday. He worked with his steer, now named Honcho Supreme(used to be JD, John Deere). He also went to a bull sale and helped Uncle Steve a lot. I believe he did some projects for Grandma and Grandpa too. While he was unpacking and I was in my room, he said, "Uncle Steve took me to take my driving test and I passed on the first try." I didn't even pause before I went into his room. I put my hand on my hip and just looked at him and grinned, "Oh, yeah?" He laughed and said that Uncle Steve thought of that in their free time at the bull sale. I told him it was hard to get one over on your mom.

Mail from THE Tim Holtz!!!
Earlier in March, I won something on Tim Holtz's blog. I don't leave comments often, but was SOOO shocked to see my comment as a winner. I didn't say anything on here because I didn't want to jinx it and I figured I'd wait until I had a picture of the package. Fast forward to last week, I decided to email him since I hadn't received anything yet. I looked at my "sent" stuff and couldn't find the email to him that I had won. WHAT!!!! OH NO. So I quickly emailed him and apologized. He emailed me and said no problem.
Then, a couple days later, I get package in mail from Tim! How cool! As I open it, I laugh hysterically. You see, in February, right after CHA, mom and I were up watching Chris play volleyball and went to Hannah's in Antioch, IL. It was a snowy day and the scrapbook manager gave us 2 sets of stamps for coming out and for coming so far from home. One of the sets was Tim's and had a crown, so I jumped on that one. I gave mom and Hero Arts set...nice, but no Tim. So, back to Tim's package. As I open it, I was laughing because Tim sent me the SAME set that I had gotten from Hannah's. So it was karma and I was able to give it to mom. When I emailed Tim the story, he was happy I shared the story and the stamps.

Tagged.....by Kathy!
Ok...I've been tagged and I usually DO NOT do these kind of things....but what the heck, it's Wednesday and here goes.
It's a self-portrait tag....just got home from work and dinner with my aunts. Can't do the mirror thing, that was a disaster, but when I held my arm out (my son is an expert at that...guess it helps to be 6'4") the picture wasn't that bad.
Here are the rules:
* take a photo of yourself....NO primping or preparing.....just snap a photo NOW!
* load onto your blog
* load onto your blog
* tag 3 people to play!!
I'm going to tag Monica....who takes an awesome self-portrait, Missy....who is very photogenic....and Kim D....cause I miss seeing her, have to wait until next Create Your Imagination.
Get snapping ladies!

My first and last quilt
When in Williamsburg last February, our class with Merry Cox featured quilts for our Ophelia doll. I had started one under the careful eyes of my quilter friend Carole. Last weekend I went on a quilt retreat with my mom and her quilt guild. I finished the first quilt and did a second one--both by hand. But I decided that I wouldn't do the third one. I don't believe I'm cut out to be a quilter. I also worked on the wool mat that was part of Ophelia's accessories. Hopefully I'll finish it this weekend and have another picture.
Car surgeon and birthday celebrations
It's been forever since I've had time to get my thoughts down. First off, my wonderful husband was like a car surgeon with the van....he FINALLY finished with a vacuum leak, cleaning everything, and tie-rods and it PASSED all inspections. WOO HOO for him. He spent many hours and many nights working on that, I'm sure he saved a lot of $$$ doing it himself.
I can't believe it, but my baby turned 16. The cake was a little late. We actually celebrated the March birthdays on Caleb's birthday.....Grandpa, Aunt Mary, Brandon, and Caleb are all between March 3 and the 8th. Good food and good times at Ruby Tuesdays.

Happy Birthday to the 10 Club Queen

Today is my aunt's birthday. As Caleb describes her, "I wouldn't be here without her." She has been our rock and savior forever and we really appreciate her and love her. On my side of the family, Aunt Mary figured out years ago that there were many family member's birthdays that fell 10 years apart. Now, Aunt Mary is the Queen of this club, then Aunt Carol, Shari, my brother and my cousin(actually Paul and my sister-in-law are in here too), then it actually skips a 10'er and goes to my son, Chris.
Happy Birthday Aunt Mary.....we love you!!!!!
