a handyman's work, a gift, and some Nantuckets

I gave my scrapbook cubes to mom for her cutting table and wanted something to keep my artbins on....viola! My handyman husband and I came up with this idea that he built....LOVE IT!

Went to my lss, For Keeps Sake, to pick up some new stamps from Tim and some new MME stuff....very cool. Nancy W had a present for me, as she knows I'm the queen...at least in my house.


These are the two Nantucket baskets that I wove at my friend Gina's house last week with Fred & Kay Kohler. I have woven 33, I think, in the last 13 years with them. I even found out I have one that Kay herself made.

This says it was taken by the U.S.S. Ironsides in Boston, MA at the Navy Yards...July 20, 1955. Think my nephew Brandon looks like dad.

A cowboy from way back

Old pictures from my aunt....a lot of scanning to be done, but wanted to start with this one. Apparently my dad was a cowboy from way back when.
Paul calls them "growing into" pants....with the rolled up cuffs and the baggy waist.

Gun show in December

"no oven" week

I didn't turn the oven on for dinner for the last 4 nights....cause it's too hot! But I did cook...or assemble...whichever you choose.
MENU:
Monday......tacos and Spanish rice
Tuesday.....grilled cheese
Wednesday...smoked sausage with Raven's Seasoning & mac'n'cheese
Thursday....spaghetti & meatballs and homemade creamed corn

All of this means that tomorrow night must be Red Robin for Paul's birthday burger!

41 and a chicken dinner

Paul's birthday was Sunday and we went to Hodaks for his chicken dinner. He loves fried chicken and there's is awful good. I made him a Red Velvet cake (box mix from Aunt Mary). He liked it....I've realized I just don't care for Red Velvet.

Happy Dance happenin' here

Guess what! I am posting this blog from my new FREE netbook! Yes....I was "this close" to buying one, basically I was going to order one tomorrow. I came home to a box and I WON A GATEWAY NETBOOK!!!! I was screaming, I was so excited. I've been waiting for my nantucket baskets to arrive, but this box was so much better. Ford Lincoln Mercury did a fundraiser at our high school and I was chosen as a winner for my participation!
