Cropping the "free" collages

These two layouts use the free collages from Walgreens. I made a mini-book of the train ride last year, and am going to make one of the KISS concert, so I thought using the collages on a layout page would be easy.

This layout says "quilt-a-razzi." We were at the Paducah Quilt Show and mom, Monica, and Carole were all sporting the cameras. Not that they were the only ones....felt like we were at the Oscars....the Quilt Oscars.

Lake finishes....and not all by me!

The top three pictures are things that I brought home from the retreat, but not entirely made by me. I did the needlework on the tote, but Monica did the "real" sewing of the project bag. And the beautiful colorful tote bag, that was made by Monica as well. We bought the fabric last year when we were in Kansas City. Monica not only finished mine, but hers as well. She is an exceptional sewer and bag maker. Now the hooked rug, that was started by me, probably worked on very slowly over the last several years, probably only a few stitches at a time. Last year at the Lake, I brought it and tried to work on it. I realized that I do not like rug hooking at all. Carole, wonderful hooker that she is, took it home and finished it for me. LOVE it, LOVE it so much! It is neat to think both our hands worked on it.

The table runner, now that was a fun project. Tina and I both made table runners, being non-sewers in the cabin. Mom, Carole, Monica and June all made one, but they sew. So they were much faster than Tina and myself. But we did a great job and it is on my table at a place of honor. Thanks to the other cabin for enabling us for this group project.

Lake gifts

Wonderful retreat in every sense of the word at Kentucky Lake with friends. Laughter, tears, love....what I needed. And gifts...who could ask for anything more. Look closely at the fabric on the pillow case that Carole made for us...certainly can't have Paul's head on that!

2009 done.....2010 coming soon

I just finished the last layout for the monthly ones that I do for each year. I was a little behind, but 2009 is done. I even did the title page. I started this in December 2007 with Missy and have continued. I have all of 2010 pictures printed and I'm doing a monthly layout kit from Basic Grey. It is a project that will be completed at Kentucky Lake with friends.....one of many projects hoping to be completed.

Yes, Virginia, I do still stitch

I stitched and finished this hornbook from Merry Cox today. And I mean finished and put together all by myself. This might be the start of something good.
