Birthday, byrd, and baskets

August brings Paul's birthday and we celebrated at a newer fried chicken place which was really good. It was also a great surprise that Chris had called and paid for our dinner!

And we went to Kentucky so I could make an acorn basket with Alice Ogden. It was a true highlight and I'm beyond excited that I made the acorn and it turned out great. A lot of work, but a beautiful ash basket for the effort.

Easter and Springtime

Out with the snowmen and in with the baskets and Easter eggs. Love my wool mats and woven baskets.

A "sheepish" finish

Finally finished all of the smalls I was doing for the Shepherds Bush box, A Full Heart. I did the large pincushion in the bottom of the box instead and also did the needleroll and pinkeep.  The scissor fob is the 2016 SB one as I liked it better. Love the way it all looks together!

Strawberry season

Finished this strawberry table runner from Anna Louise's in Ohio. Was visiting for a Rebekah Smith retreat called From Our Hands in 2015. My friend Monica took us to Anna Louise's and all of us got the pattern and located the red ticking. Loved the wool on the border. Now to finish the other things bought on that trip!

Cows out and about

The cows decided to check out the back yard....and then Brandon had to round them up. Just another day at the farm.

Happy anniversary tomorrow

Stopped for something sweet, besides Paul, to celebrate our anniversary. It's been 27 years....and it just keeps getting better. Happy anniversary to the man of my dreams.

Merry Christmas "light" 2015

Thank goodness I finished the holly as it is kind of a minimalist Christmas around here. Sciatica nerve issues since October, now know is a bulging disc.  So only a new to us small tree and nativity set from my mom made it out as decorations. So happy that she gave me the nativity now...loved it growing up.  The only thing missing is the real straw we would bring in for the manger.
