Decorating the tree

Decorated the tree today as Chris is coming home and he doesn't like putting the ornaments on. We went from 200 lights to 750 this year...that was an ordeal. Paul did a great job and the tree sat for 2 weeks without ornaments...it was so pretty.

I got the large Santa head at a craft fair this year because it was very vintage looking. Paul says that's my 2010 ornament.

One of the reasons I love the ornaments is the memories they bring back. Chris' first Christmas and he's wearing the velvet suit my Grandma got him. He was 6 months old. Below if our first family ornament. I love when I see them together in the box as it represents such a great time. We even have a brass engraved one from 1988 when we were engaged.

Even though Chris is kind of "Scrooge-like," I sometimes find very appropriate ornaments for the kids. Last year was the great Sports Center Santa for Chris and the John Deere for Caleb. I could do a whole tree of Caleb's Tonka and John Deere ornaments.

Oh me too, Barb!
I love Christmas ornaments.
Almost every ornament on our tree has some kind of memory. Lots of happy ones and even a few tears :0)

Pass the kleenex... I love what you shared. Oh that first family ornament is so sweet. Tonight, sit and enjoy the lights for me. Merry Christmas, Barb!
