Scrapper's Throwdown Contest

FKS does a contest each month called the Scrapper's Throwdown. They give you a sketch and you turn in a layout by the end of the month, voting the first half of the next month (with a purchase) and then winner. I've been entering each month because it makes me follow a sketch and do a layout each month. This month I was a little late, started tonight at 5:00.....dropped off at shop at 7:35 and they close at 8:00...whew!

I had the idea in my mind for a while, the word just spoke to me about Chris and Casey. The numbers on the bingo card that are circled are the volleyball numbers for each of them....how lucky. Don't know if I'll win or not, but glad I didn't miss a month. I know too that Missy would be proud of my use of patterned paper....guess that master's degree in SDU is certainly paying off.

Love these cards...so easy too!

I'm not a big card maker...like to make them, but not very good with inspiration. A good follower, not leader. Found a card on Kelly Purkey's blog and went for it. Made them for the administrative assistant at work who is retiring. Very easy and I love them...change the sentiment to anything at all.

First road trip with Caleb

Caleb and I went to Peoria, IL for his first college visit at Bradley University. We had a great time. He slept, played DJ for me with his Ipod, and we talked. Stopped at several scrapbook stores, a jewelry store, and even had Cozy Dog for a snack on the way home. Can't wait for the next one.

Big Hooray....at least for a couple of hours

We hit 60 hours free on our dvr! We have 150 hours total, and we haven't seen less than 50 hours available since probably the day we got the dvr. We have a whole season of "The Good Wife" to watch, and we are almost finished with "Parenthood." My supervisor told me about this because of the Aspergers connection and we really like it. So many things hit home and are portrayed very real life...for those of us who live it.

Thank goodness we took a picture, because when we got home from church, it was back to 56 hours. We hope to catch up on a lot this summer.

Catching up.....

Since Chris' birthday, I've got to go to Dayton to spend time with some of my FAVORITE people and LAUGH soooo much. They sure make life good.

INSERT PHOTO HERE AFTER I TAKE PICTURES OFF CAMERA! OOPS!

Also went on Date night with Paul....saw band play in Kirkwood and then had great Mexican food (our favorite).

Our lives have been full of painting and grass cutting for Caleb, work and "honey-do jobs" for Paul, scrapping, laundry, work and fun for me. Chris is busy with work, public transportation, and getting in good with the sub shop "neighborhood thug" in Chicago. I also love summer so we can catch up on our dvr. We've gotten to over 40 hours available. We still have to watch the final episode of "ER". We've saved that for too long. And have an entire season of "The Good Wife" on there.

Need to get pictures off the camera and take some pics of what I've been creating. I've even stitched so far this summer. Life is good!

Happy Birthday to my baby

At 3:42 p.m. today, Chris will be 21. Here is a reverse walk down memory lane.

16th birthday
Chris visiting Big Foot
Chris at 1 year
Chris at 1 month...he fell asleep before we got the picture taken and would not wake up
He was so cute.....6 lbs, 11 oz., 20" long. And now, 21 years later, he wears a size 14 shoe and 6'4". We are so proud of him and happy for all the love he has brought into our lives. Happy Birthday....I know you started at midnight!
